Just a little update… Well, it’s early days. I’ve been trying to get out there, meet people, basically just let people know that I am here, explain a bit about what Gloucestershire Music Forum is all about and what my role will be (kind of improvising that bit at the moment - thank goodness i studied jazz!) It seems that the guy who runs Riffs music shop in Stroud is setting up ‘Stroud Music Community’, so hoping to engage in some partnership working with him. Met a cool young guy by the name of Sam, 12 years old and hugely talented singer and guitarist, who would like to get involved- i want to set up a Stroud Youth Music Forum and also want some youth advisors. And following up some other leads with Stroud District Council, Stroud District Youth Council and Youth Services… Busy bee - got to fly! Bye for now.

"Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand. With an equal opportunity, for all to sing dance and clap their hands"
Sir Duke, Stevie Wonder
Hi there, my name's Emma and i'm working for the Gloucestershire Music Forum as the Music Development Networker for Stroud. The organisations aim is to increase the quality and profile of music in the area, and specifically to create more opportunities for young people. Hopefully this blog will keep you all up to date with what i'm doing, and give you a chance to get in touch if you want to be involved, have any suggestions, want me to promote something you're involved in or just want to say hi.

Gloucestershire Music Forum is a not for profit social enterprise that is committed to increasing music opportunities and raising the quality and profile of the county’s music makers and providers.
